Ojai Summer House is a small, three bedroom house tucked away in a quiet corner near downtown Ojai. It is located within a half a mile from the trailheads, the farmers market, and the heart of downtown. Two unassuming, white farmhouse cottages are centered around a courtyard with two small cabins in the back. The first cottage contains the living room, dining room, kitchen and a powder room with a shower. Connected by a gravel courtyard and covered, stone walkway, the second cottage contains the three small bedrooms, two bathrooms and a small laundry room. The master bedroom has a king bed and french doors which open to the central courtyard, an ensuite closet and bathroom with double sink vanity. The second bedroom has a built in bunk bed, and the third bedroom has a single twin bed. These two bedrooms are connected by a jack and jill bathroom which has a porcelain pedestal sink and an antique clawfoot tub. All four structures on the property have recently undergone a full renovation completed in early 2021. While all the appliances and fixtures are new, some unique antique details were used for referencing the original time period of the cottages, including antique barn floors, reclaimed wood paneling, antique glass doors, antique brass nautical sconces etc. The kitchen boasts a commercial grade viking stove with warming shelf, custom cabinetry, a farmhouse sink, all brass hardware, reverse osmosis water faucet and a Miele dishwasher. New split duct AC/HEAT units are installed throughout both structures and there are three showers in total and WIFI throughout. The two small cabins in back (one set up as an office and the other set up as a “nap room”) have electricity, antique redwood paneling, sea grass floors and recessed lighting. The central courtyard has a ten foot custom made pine slab dining table under a canopy of mature olives and flanked by a stone walled fire pit. Outside of the kitchen door are two raised, vegetable beds and a planter with mature citrus trees. The property sits at the end of a quiet street and benefits from the shade of an old oak tree.
This Sprawling Craftsman Home sits under the Topa Topa Mountain Range and enjoys surrounding mountain and meadow views.
